Fourvière Pre-Novitiate Community
The Fourvière Pre-Novitiate Community of the Marist East Asia Province is a formation community dedicated to accompanying young men who are discerning and preparing for the vocation of becoming Marist Brothers. Inspired by the experience of the first Marists at Fourvière and rooted in the charism of Saint Marcellin Champagnat, the community seeks to nurture future Brothers who are committed to making Jesus Christ known and loved in the way of Mary.
As a house of initial formation, the Fourvière Pre-Novitiate Community provides an environment where candidates are invited to deepen their relationship with God, grow in self-awareness, and gradually embrace the Marist way of life. Guided by a team of Marist Brothers serving as formators, the young men are accompanied through a process of human, spiritual, intellectual, pastoral, and community formation that prepares them for the Novitiate and for a life of service in the Church.

Our Experiences
The formation program of the Fourvière Pre-Novitiate Community includes experiences of prayer and spiritual accompaniment, academic studies, pastoral involvement, manual work, community living, and apostolic exposure among children and young people. These experiences are designed to help candidates grow into mature disciples of Jesus Christ and develop a deep appreciation for the Marist vocation and mission.
