Mission at the Peripheries
Situated in the remote village of Malutok, the Brothers live and proclaim the Gospel in the spirit of Saint Marcellin Champagnat. Guided by Mary, they dedicate their lives to serving indigenous peoples and marginalized youth.
A Remote Presence
The Marist Malutok Palawan Community, situated in the remote village of Malutok, Ransang, Rizal, Palawan, Philippines, is one of the missionary communities of the Marist East Asia Province, where Marist Brothers dedicate their lives to living and proclaiming the Gospel in the spirit of Saint Marcellin Champagnat. Inspired by the Marist charism and guided by Mary, our Good Mother, the Brothers strive to make Jesus Christ known and loved in the way of Mary, particularly among indigenous peoples, children, young people, and families living in the peripheries.
A Life-Giving Presence
Embodying the core Marist values of simplicity and family spirit, the Brothers share the daily joys and struggles of the local people. Through their prayer and fraternal life, they strive to be a humble witness of God's compassionate love.
Values and Fraternity
Rooted in prayer, fraternity, and missionary zeal, the Marist Malutok Palawan Community embodies the values of Presence, Simplicity, Family Spirit, Love of Work, and Following in the Way of Mary. In the midst of a culturally rich and geographically isolated area, the Brothers seek to become a humble and life-giving presence among the people, sharing their joys, hopes, and struggles while witnessing to the compassionate love of God.
Integral Development
Collaborating closely with local indigenous families and Church leaders, the Brothers lead initiatives in education, youth formation, and environmental stewardship. Their mission echoes Champagnat’s dream to bring hope to the young and forgotten.
Empowering the Community
The community carries out its mission through various ministries in education, pastoral accompaniment, youth formation, social development, and community empowerment. Working closely with local communities, indigenous families, Church leaders, and lay collaborators, the Brothers promote programs that foster faith, human dignity, peace, environmental stewardship, and integral development. Their mission reflects the dream of Saint Marcellin Champagnat to be among the young and the poor, bringing hope and the Good News to those who are often forgotten or marginalized.
Embracing Cultures
The community actively promotes dialogue and mutual respect, deeply embracing the richness of local traditions. By building bridges of solidarity, the Brothers affirm the dignity and unique gifts of every individual they encounter.
Mutual Respect and Solidarity
The Marist Malutok Palawan Community also embraces the richness of indigenous cultures and traditions, promoting dialogue, mutual respect, and a spirit of communion. Through their presence and service, the Brothers seek to build bridges of understanding and solidarity while affirming the dignity and unique gifts of every person and community they encounter.
