Terms of Service

"Operating principles for our digital mission and engagement."

Summary:

"We use your data only to process your gift and keep you updated. We will never sell your email or mailing address to third parties. Your data is safe with us and you own it but it is your responsibility to safeguard it."

Effective Date: February 2026

1. Donation Acceptance & Irrevocability

Once a donation is made, it is generally considered a completed gift to our mission.

  • Irrevocability: All donations are final and non-refundable unless exceptional circumstances are proven (e.g., fraudulent use of a payment method).
  • Discretionary Use: The Marist Brothers East Asia Province retains full control and discretion over donated funds to ensure they are used to further our mission, even when a specific project is highlighted.

2. Tax-Exempt Status & Receipts

Understanding your tax benefits and our acknowledgement process.

Status Disclosure: We are a registered non-profit religious organization in the Republic of the Philippines. Donors abroad should consult local regulations regarding international gift deductibility.

Receipting: Donors will receive an official acknowledgement via email immediately after a successful transaction. Official receipts for tax purposes are issued upon request or as required by local law.

3. Recurring Donations

Subscription terms for our long-term mission partners.

  • Authorization: By choosing a recurring plan, you authorize us to charge your payment method on the specified schedule.
  • Cancellation: You may stop recurring payments at any time. To prevent the next charge, please cancel at least 48 hours before your next billing cycle.
  • Notification: You will be notified via email if a payment fails or if there are changes to your donation schedule.

4. Payment Processing & Security

Transparency regarding how your financial data is handled.

Third-Party Services: Payments are handled by secure, PCI-compliant processors. We do not store or see your full credit card numbers on our servers.

Transaction Fees: Your gross donation may be reduced by standard gateway processing fees. In some cases, you will be given the option to "cover the fee" to ensure your full intended gift reaches the mission.

5. Prohibited Conduct (AML)

Protecting the integrity of our mission from illegal activity.

Lawful Funds: By donating, you warrant that your funds are from legal sources and do not violate Anti-Money Laundering (AML) or "Know Your Customer" (KYC) regulations.

Right to Refuse: We reserve the right to refuse or return any donation that may pose a legal, ethical, or reputational risk to our organization.

6. Privacy & Recognition

Respecting your anonymity and contact preferences.

Donor Privacy: We will never sell, trade, or share our donor lists with third parties. Your data is used exclusively for mission support and communication.

Wall of Donors: We occasionally publish names to recognize our benefactors. You have the right to remain anonymous and can opt-out at the point of donation or via email.
