CMMF FORMATION ON MISSION AND GENEROUS SERVICE

Mrs. Benita F. Tandog, a retired Administrator of Notre Dame of Marbel University and an active member of the Champagnat Movement of the Marist Family (CMMF-Philippines) was one of the participants who joined the 2nd Thematic Lay Formation on Mission and Generous Service, the theme chosen for the Lenten reflection of the CMMF. The activity was held on March 17, 2018 which program included visit to the Home for the Aged at General Santos City. Thirteen (13) CMMF members interacted and listened to stories of about Twenty-Two (22) elderly people. Elderly (Lolo) Demetrio, spoke of what great joy him and the others had having the CMMF around. The lunch shared with them was a celebration of birthday thanksgiving by Mrs. Lourdes Orquia, member of the CMMF core team.

In the afternoon, the CMMF family joined the Marist Lay Volunteers at the Province Center for inputs on (1) The State of the Indigenous Peoples in the Philippines presented by Mrs. Grace Dalde; and (2) Faces of Mission and the Street Children of Marcellin Homes shared by Br. Crispin Betita, FMS. They participated in the Eucharistic celebration and witnessed to the Commissioning of the first group of the Marist Lay Volunteers.

“CMMF is family for me. In this family I experience meaningful encounters that make me understand the gift of being Marist for others…” said Mrs. Tita Poticar, a new member, as she capped her story sharing her appreciation and fulfillment of the day’s experience.
