CMMF-Marbel Community Nurtures Family Spirit Through Prayer and Faith Sharing

Integral in the formation experience of the members of the Champagnat Movement of the Marist Family (CMMF) are moments set aside for quality time and space to deepen prayer life, reflect and share on the Word of God, and animate further the movement through sharing updates on one’s life story and the events of importance to one’s family.

Last March 28, 2018, Holy Wednesday, around Thirty (30) members of the CMMF Marbel gathered with the CMMF - MARBEL intention of nourishing prayer and nurturing the Marist family spirit. The theme reflected on was trusting God’s creative touch in one’s life as capped by the words of St. Edith Stein: “How wonderful to walk along in life holding the hand of God…!” This reflection point was further deepened by the Gospel story of Mary of Bethany who anointed Jesus with the best perfume from her alabaster flask (Matthew 26:6-13). During the small group sharing, members testified to how God’s hands touched them personally and what, in response, they are called to give Him back, as a representation of the best they can offer.

The fellowship dinner was graced by the presence of Br. Robert Teoh, Provincial of the East Asia Province, Bro. John Chin and Br. Domingo Lee (Councilors) and Br. Albert Bolibol. Br. Edgar Ceriales, FMS, gave a brief sharing on the invitation for volunteer service in the Marist missions.

The experience was for most members of the CMMF, a meaningful preparation for the beginning of the Easter Triduum. And for friends who came for the first time, it was, indeed, an occasion of sowing seeds of connection with the Marist life.
