Our Presence
A Deep-Rooted Mission
The Philippines hosts the largest Marist Brothers community in East Asia. With a rich history of educational ministry, the Brothers have established schools across the archipelago, serving hundreds of thousands of Filipino students with dedication and the Marist charism.
The East Asia Regional Office is based in General Santos City, making this country the administrative and spiritual hub of the region. The Brothers here continue to nurture vocations and lead formation programs for the entire region.

Mission and Apostolic Calling
Established in 1958 amid the historic cultural crossroads of the Sulu Archipelago, the Marist Jolo Community is a living embodiment of the charism of Saint Marcellin Champagnat. In a region rich in heritage yet tested by hardship, Marist Brothers live in close fraternity and dedication, providing quality education, youth development, and inter-religious dialogue through Notre Dame of Jolo College and pastoral outreach across the island chain.
The brothers witness to Gospel brotherhood through quiet daily presence, deep mutual respect, and unconditional love for every young person entrusted to their care.

The Marist presence in the Philippines began in 1948 in Cotabato, expanding to Jolo in 1958. For over 65 years, the brothers have maintained an unbroken commitment to dialogue of life and education for peace in Sulu.
